German Hallertau Tradition
A close descendant of Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, bred for disease resistance at the Hüll Hop Research Institute in Germany. Related to Hallertau Mittelfruh. Very refined, sweet aroma. The aromas of this hop include: raisin and plum as well as having chocolate and grassy notes. Use for aroma and flavor additions in German lagers.
Aroma: Very fine and similar to H. Mittelfrüh
Cone Structure: Medium sized, quite tight cone.
Lupulin: Moderate amount, pale yellow in color.
Growth & Harvest Information
Growth Habit: Vigorous grower with long laterals.
Maturity: Medium early
Yield: 1,750 - 2,000 kg./ha. or 1,560 - 1,780 lb./ac.
Drying and Baling: No problems.
Disease Reaction: Resistant to both Verticillium wilt and downy mildew.
Alpha Acid: 5.0 - 7.0% w/w
Beta Acids: 4.0 - 5.0% w/w
Co-Humulone: 23 - 29% of alpha acids
Total Oil: 1.0 - 1.4 mls/100 grams
Myrcene: 20 - 25% of whole oil
Humulene: 40 - 50% of whole oil
Caryophyllene: 10 - 15% of whole oil
Farnesene: <0.1% of whole oil
